Your Sample Acting Retreat Experience: 

Program*

8:30AM: Welcoming & Orientation

You'll receive your welcome packet that includes the itinerary and other paperwork, a personal journal and a few other treats. You'll also be given a tour of the grounds.

 

9:30AM: Breakfast (coffee, tea, fresh iced teas, juice, yogurt, granola, nuts, fresh organic fruit, croissants, eggs, toast, avocado, spinach, etc.).

 

10:30AM: Instruction on the Grounds-Wellness (health offerings-physical and psychological-about BEING an actor; Relaxation/Sense Memory; 'Song and Dance'; Monologue work.

 

1:00PM: Lunch (organic grain salads, veggies and fruits, grilled chicken, vegetarian options) 
 

2:30PM: Instruction in the Woods: guided hike and sensory exercises, vlog/monologues shot to use for professional development (reel), swimming in the cool brook.

 

4:30PM: Structured Round Robin. Choose from: Relaxing in Jen's Infrared Sauna, walking or biking on bike trail to the bridge, journaling, yoga, working out, running, meditation, cooking, sleeping, dancing on the grounds, painting, sketching
 

6:00PM: Dinner Event and Instruction: This is a group cooking exercise. You will be gathering some of the foods from Jen's gardens and creating a meal.

 

7:15: Closing Event: Fireside. Each person shares about their experience.
 

8:00PM: End of Retreat

Jennifer McCabe Studios Hudson Valley location is a small cottage house that sits on a private country acre and looks out over the Old Croton Reservoir. The property borders both the Kitchawan Preserve and the North County Trailway.
